Tal Simon (b. 1994) is an Israeli artist based in Jerusalem. With a recent shift in oeuvre, Simon’s work has gone from visceral, heavily gestured and richly saturated compositions, towards a meditative, enigmatic and carefully composed paintings. In a return to the ‘essentials’ of the medium, Simon works with ink and charcoal, at times mixed with turpentine or gesso on canvas and paper. His practice explores transformation, hybridity, and repetition as sites of change, potential, and beauty.

Simon holds a BFA with honors from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design Jerusalem and is currently an artist-in-residence at Art Cube Artists’ Studios, Jerusalem.
